Job Description:
The Linux System Administrator is the expert in all facets (Production, QA, and Development) including the administration of, design and creation of integration level components for the Linux operational and production environments.

The primary goals for the position will include Linux-based application server administration with focus on security, automation, optimization, and standardization of new and deployed systems. The Linux System Administrator will be involved in infrastructure planning with regards to scalability, redundancy, and data preservation of backend systems.

Requirements:
- Full-time Linux system administration including; installation, configuration, domain deployment/management strategy formulation, performance tuning, configuration management, software upgrade planning, HA, Backup/Disaster Recover, and troubleshooting in a large heterogeneous environment. Must be able to support the entire O/S (Linux based).
- VERITAS - VxVM (volume manager), VxFS (File System), VCS (Cluster) and Netbackup
- Dell & HP Storage Experience
- Experience with Perl and shell scripting, kernel tuning, system and network security; file servers (Samba, NFS), and clusters.
- Good knowledge of products and tools for all aspects of system management, including backup, network/system monitoring, security, cluster, and HA
- Need to be able to create scripts (shell scripts and deployment scripts).
- Experience with server virtualization for trivial consolidation, HA, and development sandboxes
- Extensive experience working with J2EE developers and Tomcat Web Servers.
- Ability to manage the network including
- Ability to do initial crash dump analysis and OS level restoration services.
- Ability to support the engineering & sales teams. Strong team player, communicator, relationship builder, and motivator.
- Ability to develop technical documentation that is clear and concise.
- 3 years experience with Linux supporting engineering and production is a must.
- Strong Knowledge of MySQL Databases a plus.
- Application server/Application debugging (Java) is a plus
